We had another great day of racing at Checkered Flag today. With all the laughter taking place today it’s easy to say that everyone had a Fun day. Mother Nature threw some warm temperatures at us today and we were able to keep the track watered and the old girl held up great. Congrats to all the winners of both the races and the door prizes.

A big thank you to Carrick Electric for coming on board has a sponsor and supplying the trophies for the Racing For Heroes Race in September. We hope you all will support all of our sponsors. Without them the track and club would not be what it is today. Thank you all.

Racing resumes next week for our last scheduled race before the KDOC and we hope to see you all at the track.

What a great day of racing at CFR today. With the hot temperatures we saw some great racing on the track today. I still can’t figure out how I got the track to wet but boy did the ole girl come on. That was by far the best racing we’ve had all season. A big thank you to Matt Gorman for sponsoring the race along with the door prizes from our other sponsors. We want to thank everyone for coming out and the great ” let’s just have fun” attitudes. That’s what the track is supposed to be, FUN. Congratulations to all the winners. To everyone that helps us with the track, we thank you. We couldn’t do it without you. We hope to see you all next week for practice on Thursday and Sunday for our next club race.

Thanks to all of you that made it out today. It was a warm one for sure. We hope everyone had a great time. Congratulations to all the winners and the prize drawings winners. The old track threw us a curve ball in the features and it definitely became a drivers track. We will keep working at it and I’m sure we will get a handle on it. One thing still stands true though and that is it’s the same for everyone. We now look to the future and the Spring Dirt Oval Classic on June 15. We want to thank Matt Gorman for sponsoring this race and hope you all can make it out for another great day of racing. Once again thanks for all your support.

What a great race day. Thank you all for your support of the track and club. 86 entries today was awesome. It was great seeing a lot of old friends. The old track took a while but it finally started coming in good. It got what it needed today, a bunch of laps ran on it. We now take a week off and we have some more changes coming when we get back to racing on May 18th. Don’t worry we’re just trying to keep improving the track. Once again thank you all and we’ll see you in a couple of weeks.

Track owner Tim presenting the check to members of the Basehor VFW Post 11499

What a great day we had at CFRKC!! I’m so proud of what the Kansas Dirt Slingers did today at Checkered Flag Raceway. The club hosted a benefit race for the VFW called Racing for Heroes and raised $1100 dollars for them. Makes me proud to be an American. The great thing for track owner, Tim McDowell, was that his dad and his hero, Marvin McDowell was able to make it out for part of the day. Tim is proud to say that he’s a “military brat”.

The heat was on at Checkered Flag R/C Raceway with this past weekend for the “Sprint Dirt Oval Classic” sponsored by Matt Gorman and Farm Bureau.

With an amazing car count at 119 and the outside air temperatures soaring near 100 Deg. F the competition was mentally and physically tough on everyone, beating and banging to take home some hardware. With some news faces in the winners circle this week, just proves that anyone can win at any given week at Checkered Flag R/C Raceway regardless of the conditions. Thanks to all that attended the race and bared the heat. You can check out today’s racing results here.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the next race on July 8th with the Midwest Outlaw Series and CFR’s Racing for Heroes charity race to benefit the VFW. Come out and support our troops and your favorite branch of the service.

What a great day of racing at Checkered Flag Raceway. A new record car count for a club race, 108 cars was set and the racing was fast and furious all day long. I think the truckload of topsoil was a great addition. Congrats to all the winners and congrats to Jim Hubbard the winner of our Boca Bearing drawing and Mark Dempsey was the winner of our 50/50 drawing.

To date we have 61 club members. Again we can’t thank you all for your support and help. We had visitors from Iowa and Oklahoma join us for the days activities and it was great to see them. Mother nature tried to throw us a curve but the Kansas Dirt Slingers won out in the end.

June 10th marks the date of the next race. Don’t forget and let’s get together and do it all over again. Open practice June 7th with the track opening at 5pm.
