Donna and I want to thank all of you that made it to the Halloween Havoc. It was a Fun day of racing and a great way to close the 2012 season. It was great to see all the kids in their Halloween costumes during the Trick or Treat Parade through the pits. We think they all enjoyed it. Once again thank you all for a great season.

The 2012 KDOC is in the books and all I can say is what a weekend. Donna and I would like to thank everyone that participated or just stopped by to watch this years event. With our support of local racers and a large contingent of DODC traveling racers we set a new track record of 171 entries. We would like to congratulate all the winners and hope that everyone had a FUN time. It was a very trying weekend for me with the loss of my dad and I want to thank all of you for helping me get through it. It shows that we are a very caring group of individuals.

A big thank you goes out to all that helped make this race a huge success. Josh for all the hours you spend helping, Pat and Clint for keeping the show running, Chris for taking care of tech and Elmo for taking care of the track. Raymond and Jason the videos are awesome that you took the time to film and Chris K. for covering the event for RC Driver. Nick Sherman thank you for the flyover. I had numerous comments on how it was a nice touch. To Donna and Patty in the cafe, thank you for keeping us all fed. You both worked your butts off the days preceeding and during the race . I will be working on a solution to cool the cafe more. I’m sure there are folks that I left off and I apoligize for it, but if you helped in anyway Thank You.

I want to congratulate C A Parmalee and Chris Flower on there inductions into the Kansas Dirt Slingers Hall Of Fame. You both are vital members of the club and great friends to all of us.

I would also like to thank Arnie, Nathan and Custom Works for the setup seminar they put on Friday. Hopefully it will be beneficial for all of those that attended.

To all of our sponsors we thank you for everything. With your great support we were able to keep all the racers hydrated and provide every racer with a door prize. Here is a list of all of them. I ask you to please drop them a email and thank them for your prize and supporting Checkered Flag Raceway.

As with any big race the KDOC didn’t happen without some issues. I can assure you that I do take notes and will work to make sure they don’t happen again.

To all the club members I thank you for all your support and continuing efforts to bring new racers into our hobby. I think we showed all of our guests just how strong the Kansas Dirt Slingers RC Club is. To all the traveling racers we hope you all had a great time. It was nice to see some old friends and have the chance to make some new ones. We hope you all will come back and race with us again.

With a break in the heat by only a few degrees the action on the track was still hot. With several racers taking a break and resting up for the KDOC the remaining 86 cars were trying to make their mark on the points battle as we finally returned to a mid summer club race. We saw several familiar faces in victory lane this week, however we have a few new faces stand out above the rest in their respective classes. Congratulations to all the winners this week. Look forward to everyone showing up at the Kansas Dirt Oval Championship next week and showing those out of towners how we dirt slingers love to play in the dirt. Racing results can be found here.
