So we hope you make plans to join us for the race. I would like for everyone to think about Donna’s request that we all wear a costume. I’m not asking that you go spend a bunch of money just try to throw something together and let’s make Donna’s day.

Wow!!! What a day we had paying tribute to our Veteran’s past and present. We had 100 cars take to the track for a great day of racing. With racers from all over the Midwest and our Kansas Dirt Slingers we hope a FUN time was had by all. Congratulations to all of the winners.

Once again Pat Hammond won the Most Patriotic award. You get me every year Pat, you definitely go above and beyond to give back. To MSP thank you for sponsoring the race. The trophies were awesome. With the race entries and donations we were able to raise $2015.00 for the VFW. That is awesome and we all should be proud of what we did.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.To everyone that helped get things ready or helped on race day thank you. We can’t do this by ourselves. As we reflect on the day we can hear my dad saying, “Look at all of these people showing up to play with toy cars. You and Donna keep doing what your doing because you must be doing it right.” All we can say is thank you for helping us show our veteran’s the respect they deserve.

In a time in our country where there is so much hate it is time that we all stand up united as one and be PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN. God Bless America

Tim and Donna

What a week! The 2017 Kansas Dirt Oval Championship is complete and we hope everyone had a great time. We would like to thank everyone for coming and racing with us and we hope you all come back and join us again. We have made so many friends at the track and that’s what this is all about. Friendships and memories.

The week started off great with Fred and I getting the track prepped on Tuesday and looking good. Then our friends, the weather reporters, totally miss the mark calling for a 1/4″ of rain and we ended up with 5 1/2″ which wiped out the track completely. So guess what? We started all again Thursday night, we worked on it during practice on Friday and we think the track came in great on Saturday. We can’t thank Fred, John and Elmo for their hours of help prior to and on race day. To everyone that grabbed a blower, helped with the hose or anything else to help keep the track in shape thank you, thank you, thank you.

The race day started with our drivers meeting which saw us having some FUN with Bob Cross and help set the tone for a FUN day. Sorry Bob but we had to do it. Hope you had fun with it to. LOL. We announced our newest Hall Of Fame inductee, Felix Pacheco. Felix you are and always have been a crucial member of the club. Congratulations my friend, you deserved it.

The races were flying along until we hit a hick up with the mains setup. I want to apologize for the delay but I’m a man of my words and it didn’t set things up the way I said we were running and I had to make it right. We all owe Mike and Brittany Garrison, Matt Murphy and Clint Seitz a big thank you for helping get the issue straightened out. You all helped get my stress level back down. The mains saw awesome racing and was a great way to finish the day.

We would like to thank Nikki Lutz for taking pictures and making the shirts. Scott Lutz and Chris Flower for always helping do what ever needs done and keeping me calmed down. Clint Sietz for running the races, we both about had a meltdown but we kept each other calm and got through it. Dan Flick, thank you for running the video camera because I got it started and forgot about it. Pat, Fred and Donna in the Snack Shack, thanks for taking care of all of us throughout the day. To all the club members thank you for always being there to help promote our main rule. Let’s have FUN. The Kansas Dirt Slingers R/C Club should be proud of what we accomplished this weekend. All in all I would say the KDOC went well and we hope to see you all again.

What a Fun day at the track. We had 65 cars take to a tricky track that saw all different race conditions that made you get up on the wheel today. It was a day full of great weather until we got to the mains and the clouds started rolling in, but we got it in before the rain hit. A big thank you to everyone for keeping things moving along and helping get everything picked up. Congratulations to all of today’s winners.

A big thank you to Maclan for the gift certificates given away today. The winners of the Signs by Taco Wraps were Cody Pierce and Brandon Warbritton. Robert Sode was the winner of the Checkered Flag Shirt from Nikki Lutz. Remember Nikki can put anything on a shirt for you. Thanks to all of our sponsors for helping us out. It is greatly appreciated.

As was discussed in the drivers meeting I made a mistake on the schedule and had us racing next weekend 7/2/17. We are rescheduling that race for 8/13/17. It was an oversight on my part and I hope you understand. So enjoy the holiday next weekend and we hope to see you on 7/16/17 when racing returns to Checkered Flag.

What a day. We were happy to host race 3 of the King Of Kansas City Series. We had a total of 97 cars that hit the track. There was some good racing and some bad but we hope everyone had a good time. The track was a little rough to begin the day but we kept working on it and it came around nicely. We would like to thank Gary, Rob and Mike for putting on the series and asking us to be part of it. I know there was some confusion with the mains but they worked at it and got it straightened out. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all that came out.
We will continue our club racing this Sunday 6/11/17. Until then everyone have a safe week and we hope to see you at the track.
