Well it was another Fun but hot day at the track today with 63 cars hitting the track. Congrats to all the winners and thanks to everyone that made it out. It was great having 2 heats in the novice class with more new racers showing up today. With mother nature threatening rain yesterday and last night the track wasn’t the best the first round but we all stayed after it and it really came around nicely. Then there was the issue with the power outage but thanks to the generator that Donna didn’t need for the café today we were able to keep the program going.

We now take some time off due to my work schedule and to prepare for the KDOC on July 29th and 30th. We have some nice trophies and we hope to see you all for the race. The website will be updated soon with the full results and updated points. Once again thank you all for the support.

It was another Fun day of racing today. We had 73 cars take to a tough track that some rework after the first round turn into a good track. Congratulations to all the winners. It looks like the Smoked turkey and ham sandwiches were a hit, since there was none left for me to have for dinner. LOL We would like to thank you all for the continued support for the track and café. We continue the action with race #3 next Sunday 6/12/16.

What a great day to kick off the season. It was great to see everyone again. We had 65 cars take to the track and saw some great racing. Some of us need to do some car maintenance but that’s another story. Congratulations to all the winners. We had some new racers that saw us have a Novice class again and that’s what we need for our hobby to continue. A big welcome to all of you.

During the drivers meeting there were 2 tweaks to some rules made. The Sprint Car class is now 10.5 Blinky tires. Bandito tires on the rear are now a second tire option for the Street Stock and Limited Late Model classes. There will be no more changes done to the rules until the end of the season.

The next action at the track is Practice on 6/2/16 and racing resumes on 6/5/16. Thanks again for all the support.

What a great day at the track. The kids were Trick or Treating the pits and the racing on the track was a fun filled event. We had 68 entries today all vying for the coveted Tombstone trophies. The racing was great and most important at the end of the day everyone was smiling and talking about the surprises that were added to the Havoc 100. The Trailer race was a added bonus this year and it was entertaining for sure. We would like to thank Gary Offutt for doing some guest announcing. Gary will definitely bring a smile to everyone with his style of announcing. All in all it was just a great day. Donna and I would like to congratulate all the winners and our sponsors for the great door prizes. This will now close out our 2015 season. Thank you all for the continued support and we hope to see you all next season. The rules will be updated soon and the 2016 schedule will be made hopefully by the end of the year.

On September 27th we closed out our 12th season here at Checkered Flag. The day was full of great racing, Fun and laughter. Thank you to all that helped out all season long. We definitely showed that we are not only a club but a team that will do what we have to do to make the track the best we can. Congratulations to all the days winners to all the winners.

We also crowned our Season Champions for 2015 with many of the points races coming down to the final A Mains and we congratulate all of them. Congratulations to Felix Pacheco, this years Jim Rupard Rising Star Award winner. Felix’s racing improved greatly this season and more importantly he brings his let’s have fun attitude to the track every race along with a good story or two.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors and hope you support them whenever possible. Without them we wouldn’t have the facility and prizes to share with you racers

As we wrap this up we want to thank all of you that have supported the track and club over the years. We’re not going to name anyone because we know we’ll forget someone. So if you have helped out in any way or raced here we thank you.

This all started as a dream 12 years ago and we never thought it would grow like it has. Thank you all once again. It brings us great joy to see everyone having Fun. We encourage everyone to support all of the tracks in the area so we can keep our hobby strong. Just remember to have FUN. If everyone gets 1 new racer into our hobby, it will go on forever.

Once again we thank you for your support and we hope to see you at our Halloween Havoc Race on October 4th and next year for our 2016 season.

What a day. We would like to thank everyone that came and helped us pay tribute to our veterans today. Just like our service men and women do, we showed just how much of a team the Kansas Dirt Slingers are.

After a long day of work on Saturday to get the track back in shape after the storms on Thursday, we found the track coming apart during the first round. With a lot of help our team rebuilt the track to make for better day of racing and it worked. The track was great for the rest of the day.

With VFW presenting the colors to start the day and Old Glory Flying High there was nothing that was going to stop this great day. We had friends from the South and North join us today and we hope they had a great time and will come back and join us again.

To all the Armed Forces past and present and First Responders we thank you and your families for the sacrifices you have made to keep us safe. To Randy Reed and Reed Buick GMC thank you for the awesome trophies. To our sponsors that supplied door prizes, thank you.

We did a great thing today and we hope you all realize that. With additional donations from Betty McDowell(my mom), Carrick Electric and Phil Beardshear from AFX Fab we raised $1345.00. Then Patrick Moline won the 50/50 drawing and donated that to the VFW bringing our total to $1390.00. That is great folks. Like I said at the end of the day “Be PROUD to be a AMERICAN”. We live in the greatest country on earth and God Bless the USA.
