With a break in the heat by only a few degrees the action on the track was still hot. With several racers taking a break and resting up for the KDOC the remaining 86 cars were trying to make their mark on the points battle as we finally returned to a mid summer club race. We saw several familiar faces in victory lane this week, however we have a few new faces stand out above the rest in their respective classes. Congratulations to all the winners this week. Look forward to everyone showing up at the Kansas Dirt Oval Championship next week and showing those out of towners how we dirt slingers love to play in the dirt. Racing results can be found here. Updated drivers points can be found here.

Track owner Tim presenting the check to members of the Basehor VFW Post 11499

What a great day we had at CFRKC!! I’m so proud of what the Kansas Dirt Slingers did today at Checkered Flag Raceway. The club hosted a benefit race for the VFW called Racing for Heroes and raised $1100 dollars for them. Makes me proud to be an American. The great thing for track owner, Tim McDowell, was that his dad and his hero, Marvin McDowell was able to make it out for part of the day. Tim is proud to say that he’s a “military brat”.
